2021年10月19日上午,学院邀请劳伦斯伯克利国家实验室的科学家Stefano Marchesini博士做关于相位恢复的线上讲座。常慧宾副院长主持报告,我院计算数学创新团队教师、学院研究生及本科生共同聆听报告,同时也吸引了多名校外专家学者以及学生的参与,线上收听人数多达近两百人。
Marchesini的报告介绍了相位恢复领域中的一些基本理论,包括基本理论、物理模型以及算法设计。Marchesini博士从相位恢复的早期历史讲起,以多名诺奖获得者的工作引出了相位重建的算法设计原理,从交替投影算法到鞍点优化算法,从全局更新算法到相位同步计算,涵盖了当今同步辐射光源广泛使用的主流算法。之后Marchesini博士介绍了他领导的美国劳伦斯伯克利国家实验室团队在叠层成像领域的工作,特别是与我院常慧宾研究员开展长期合作并开发了并行软件系统,该软件被布置在国际上多个同步辐射光源全天候进行成像计算。
这次报告让广大师生对相位恢复有了更进一步的认识,开阔了学术视野和增长知识,也为我院数学各学科的交叉研究提供了新的发展思路。
报告人简介:DrStefano Marchesini currently works at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Dr.Marchesini does research in Computational Imaging, Optics and Hight PerformanceComputing. Together with his colleagues, he developed simple but powerfulalgorithm “ShrinkWrap” for single particle diffraction imaging, which are still widelyused in applications. He led a very active team in LBNL to develop very popularGPU package“SHARP”forptychography data analysis. He also worked closely with applied mathematicians,and was the first to demonstrate the convergence of alternating projectionalgorithms for phase retrieval problem. He received several awards, includingHalbach award for Innovative Instrumentation at the ALS (2018), Berkeley LabDirector’s award for outstanding scientific achievement(2015), Livermore Lab, Physics Director’s award foroutstanding scientific achievement (2007), and European Marie-Curie Award(1996). He has published more than 200 papers (total 14k citations, and h-index51), some of which were published in Science, Nature, Nature Physics, NaturePhotonics, PRL etc.
